Our 2nd Sonogram at 8 weeks * 2.27.13

Today we got to see our little babe again AND hear the heart beat this time! He/she had a strong heart beat at 160! Dr. Gehlbach was very happy with that number and so were mommy and daddy!

As Dr. was finishing up the sonogram and taking a quick overview of my uterus, he spotted another faint 'flicker' on the screen. He said it was a possible identical twin!! We thought Mark was going to pass out, in fact, Dr. asked Mark if he was okay. After the appt. I asked Mark if he almost did and he said it just took him by surprise and that at first he thought something was wrong with Baby #1 (as did I)!

Identical twins are not hereditary, it just so happened that the one little embryo split into two.

Baby #2's heartbeat was at 128. We scheduled a follow up appt. for a sonogram the following week to check on Baby #2 because all babies grow at different rates.

We left the Dr. with a whole bunch of mixed emotions: excited, happy, thankful, scared, blessed, and a whole bunch more where those come from! We knew that having twins would be quite different than having just one and we were just thankful for what God has given us! We have always said, one or two, we'll be happy!!

Baby #1: (you can't see Baby #2 as it has no amniotic sac or anything yet, all we could see was a flicker on the screen)
