On Wednesday morning, we loaded up and hit the road for our stay up in Iowa for the Thanksgiving weekend! We made a pit stop at Taco Johns in Missouri Valley and made it by 4ish.
We just kept it low key that evening in anticipation for a big day on Turkey Day! We have SO many things to be thankful for... our family...
...Grammy (& Grampy) who Jordyn just adores! When we get to Grampy and Grammy's house, Jordyn is glued to Grammy's hip and Grammy just soaks it all in. Being spoiled by them is an understatement!
Jordyn's cousins who she loves so much and all of us are so excited when we get to get them all together!...
Jordyn's GREAT Grammy and Grampy and all of her great aunts and uncle... We are so very blessed to be able to all get together and beyond thankful that they can be a big part of Jordyn's life...
Jordyn's second cousins who she gets to play with every holiday that we all get together! (Can you tell she is enjoying herself? She loves little girls Sofia and Jacie's age.)
Friends... near and far... we try to make getting together whenever possible happen whenever we are back up in Iowa! It's always so nice to have mommy time and also get the kids together to play!
And last but certainly not least... our health, God, wealth, a home, cars, and the list goes on.
Thursday morning I laid Jordyn down for a morning nap because I knew we'd be busy for the rest of the day with family! She slept til about 11 and we got ready to go! We got together with my mom's side of the family for lunch. A great time was had by all, as always. Good food+good company= great time!
We left late afternoon to head to my dad's side of the family for supper. Let's just say we were all FULL from grazing all day on good food and holiday treats!! Jordyn went a little overboard though, wouldn't ya say? I think her cousin Jeff let her get this out of the fridge...
Jordyn had fun with all of her second cousins who all have ipads/tablets... anything electronic and she'll be your friend for sure!!!
Let's just say she was pooped out for the night by 8!! Didn't even wake up when I changed her into her pjs. Poor baby... this is what a turkey coma looks like!! :)
Friday morning, the crazy people that we are, Mom and I decided to do some black Friday shopping! We left around 8ish and go home around 4ish... I always love our shopping traditions... usually taco johns for lunch in the food court and just shop til we drop :) Unfortunately, Jordy had to spend the day with the guys as I know how crazy people get and how crowded the stores are, didn't want to be pushing around a stroller! Believe it or not, we weren't too sick of food yet, we went to Pizza Ranch buffet that evening for supper... SO good and such a warm and cozy atmosphere for a cold night!
Saturday morning we got to get together with Sarah and Paisley and Kendra and Grant! Like a said above, it's always so nice getting together to catch up, miss these ladies so much!! That afternoon Laura, Addie, Shayla, and Wade came!! Mom made a fabulous homemade meal for us consisting of minute steak, mashed potatos, corn, fruit salad, and garlic bread. She just never seizes to amaze us. That evening we were entertained by the girls entertaining eachother...such fun they are!!
That night Auntie Laura also gave Jordyn one of her belated birthday gifts that had not arrived on time... her very own Minnie Mouse chair to watch her cartoons in!! She loves it to this day!
The next morning we got up, ate some breakfast and watched cartoons!
We just laid low on Sunday and headed back on Monday afternoon... what a great weekend with family and friends... we always look forward to our trips back up to Iowa! It wasn't hard going back this time knowing that we'd be back in about a month for Christmas! :)
