She JUST started putting her arms out to reach for you when you said "come" as we hold ours out to her. Best feeling ever----to see the excitement in her her face and throw her arms up to us! When she gets really excited, she will flap them up and down until you actually pick her up :)
She is eating 2 meals a day; after her morning nap around 10ish and after daycare around 5ish. She loves all fruit!! I'm having a tough time trying to get veggies down her throat, she's a smart one! As far as table food goes- she's had applesauce, greek yogurt(which she loves!), fruit salad that Grammy makes, ice cream here and there:), homemade whole wheat biscuits, and I let her gnaw on celery sticks with her teething. When we go out to eat now, we ask for a high chair and get a side of applesauce so she can be a big girl and eat with us. At Texas Roadhouse we gave her a role to chew on, she tore that thing apart and got it taken away soon after, ha ha! She is definitely very interested in what WE are eating and acts like a little puppy dog whenever we are eating something she may want:)
She's in a pretty set routine; wakes up anywhere between 6-6:30, sometimes eats, sometimes doesn't. Eats a 6 oz bottle around 8 and takes a 45 minute snoozer. Eats her solids after her nap and usually holds off until about noonish to eat again. Eats another 6 oz and lays down for her afternoon nap around 12-12:30 and sleeps until 2:30-3. Get home from daycare, eats her solids around 5 and sometimes takes a nap OR falls asleep for the night around 6 with another 6 oz bottle, sometimes she gets as much as 8-9 oz down before bedtime, which is good, then she sleeps longer/through the night. We've been trying our hardest to skip that nap/push her bedtime back to 7-7:30 especially now with summer coming! All in all though, she is such a great baby, NO complaints when it comes to sleep!
She is in size 3 diapers and has been wearing anywhere from 9-12 month clothes. We are very close to retiring the changing table. We no more than get her on there and she tries rolling (yeah, the girl that used to
Speaking of middle of the night...She sleeps through the night off and on. Some nights she'll have a stretch of sleeping through the night and other random nights she'll wake up around 2 or 3, which I don't mind because she chugs her 6 oz bottle and goes right back to sleep. In fact, some nights she doesn't even open her eyes :)
She is loving daycare and just LOVES being with and watching all of her friends. Ms Sherrie said the 'no touch' rule still applies up until she starts crawling, which I love! So the kids still refer to her as Baby Jordyn and know not to touch. Ms Sherrie puts her in her jumper in the middle of all the kids while they play and she just loves that. She is a huge fan of her jumperoo and her jenny jumper; she gets crazy in there, especially when you say "jump, jump, jump!!!". So fun!!
She is in love with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!!! EVERY time it comes on, she stops dead in her tracks whatever she is going to watch and gets a huge smile on her face. For Easter Mommy and Daddy got her a little Minnie Mouse that sings the Hot Dog dance (pic above) and she loves it. We love watching her when the Hot Dog dance comes on at the end, she just glows. I love watching her excitement and how alert she is to things.
Jordyn has popped 2 teeth now; her two bottom ones! Her daycare lady said that in the 18 years that she's been doing daycare, Jordyn is by far the best teether yet! We rarely had to use Tylenol; we got by with teething tablets and a wet wash cloth. Every now and then she'd be irritable and we'd pop a couple teething tablets and she's be better within minutes! Praying the next ones come in just as easily!
I still can't get over the fact that she is over 1/2 year old already! Time needs to just slow down! I have already been looking at different themes for her 1st Birthday party, how sad and exciting all at the same time!! I am just so happy that we have gotten to cherish each and every moment with her. So far we have gotten to witness all of her "firsts"!
Okay now babygirl, slow down! Mommy and Daddy love you SO much, you make our hearts swell! We are just head over heels in love with this girl and she definitely knows it. She is our world!
